UPCOMING FAN CLUB & SMALL TALK

What's up world, here is a mind spill from the E.T. fuckers of the Midwest. This past December, DIRTY WORK did a ten day tour and from what I've heard (and seen), it was wild. We did a tour tape for them and there are some still leftover, so check that out! If you are a big DW fan, then it may be exciting for you to hear that we are doing their 7" in the upcoming months, split with Muckraker Records. Around the same time frame, TWERPS will be bringing us their three song Bloodspit Boys 7". Their debut record on Feeble Minds really stood out, so be excited for this new one. Valentine's Day is coming up and it calls for another themed mixtape, Love Still Bites. You can expect all sorts of great tracks on here, not just punk man! This mixtape will be the first treat of the new fan club.

F A N C L U B

The details of the fan club are very simple, but bring sick rewards. In order to be part of this, you need an official I.D. card. In order to get an I.D. you will send in a ten question survey, a photo of yourself, a flyer from your town, and a one time fee of $10. Being part of the club gets you sweet stuff like promo tapes & posters of upcoming records, mixtapes (not comps), flyers from Chicago shows, and more! While you don't get releases for free, you can use your I.D. # to knock some bucks off.

The ten question survey will be ready in a couple of weeks. Email with your address to get the survey in the mail. This is not an exclusive club, anyone can join!

After being sold out for a hot minute, we finally repressed the PEOPLE MOSTLY SUCK IT comp tapes. It is the same tape, the only difference is that the jackets are tie dyed instead of screen printed. Still sweet, still savory. Just like every year, we're doing a HALLOWEEN 2012 mixtape which include lots of great goth, post punk, and new wave. Be excited for the sweet knick knacks which will accompany the tape. Following this Halloween treat will be a demo tape from Philadelphia's ATTITUDE ERA. This has members of SELF CONSCIOUS, who we were going to do a 7" for. If you know fastcore, you'll know these guys are doing it right, '82 style. Lets talk HERESY influences. Last but not least, BUFF SHIT come around with their too buff to die tape. In the near (but still far) future we've got the REFORMED HOMOSEXUAL s/t 7", NARROW MIND legless stand 7", and of course, PEOPLE MOSTLY SUCK IT VOL II. Drop acid, not bombs!

Strutting out of the boring streets of Kansas City, here we have DIRTY WORK. I saw these guys when I went out to KC even before I heard their music. As I walk into this dark warehouse, their singer is going mad hitting himself with the microphone, doing non-synchronized jumps/flips, etc. They had a familiar sound of AMDI PETERSENS ARME but with their own twist. Listen for yourself and decide if you want this band to play your town next month or asap.

SO we've got some real exciting things lined up over here at EAT THE LIFE. For starters, we've got Boston's SUBCLINIX debut 7" slated for release. It should be a complete and utter ripper, and for all of you who haven't been fortunate enough to get your grimy paws on the demo you can download it here (GET ON THAT SHIT). On it's tail, we've got some wax from New York's DIPERS (7"), Boston's REFORMED HOMOSEXUAL (7"), and Chicago's good ol' NARROW MIND (one-sided 7"). Last but certainly not least, we've got a fucking neutron bomb of a reissue coming out. The details are still in the works so I won't announce exactly what record it is, but just know that it hasn't been readily available to the public since 1980. Stay tuned for updates, mutants.

SUCKED DRY s/t 7"

After the wait of a lifetime, this record is now out. This Kansas City trio brings a new meaning to hardcore while hinting at influences from bands like CROSSED OUT and RORSCHACH. Don't think it's that primitive though, their song structures are very unusual but not in an annoying way. From the first song to the last song, your blood will be boiling. Cool thing, when they played Albany on their last tour, someone moshed through a wall during their set. Sick.

SELF CONSCIOUS: NO MORE!

It sucks to say but our main buds in Philly SELF CONSCIOUS are breaking up. It sucks that we never got to release their 7" but we had lots of fun times with them. The guys in the band have a few other bands like COBRA LUNG and THE PUSSY DOGS.

POOR CHOICE teenage love is beautiful 7"!!!

Finally the 7" is done! These recordings are definitely "darker" than earlier POOR CHOICE stuff. It's more raw and d-beat like but still has a punk beat to it. Everything is fuzzy and loud, including the vocals. Every song but the last one is under a minute long. The final song is about 2 classmates falling in love; dig that!
